Indoor Baseball Practice Ideas

We have all been there... the weather does not cooperate. Too cold, too wet, just not a good day to practice. The only you may be able to do is have an indoor practice. But what are some good indoor practice ideas? The video above discusses some great indoor practice ideas and how you can beat the weather next spring, over the winter, or when your game gets rained out.

Take-a-ways

Baseball is different than most sports when it comes to practice. Technique and mechanics really are the foundational and fundamental part of the sport. That is why fundamentals are so heavily preached and taught.

At times when you practice outside there are a lot things that can interfere with maximizing these fundamentals. When you are inside, practice can be more controlled, more focused on the smaller and more precise aspects of a drill, and just quicker while getting more done.

The one thing coaches and players have to do though is adjust. Most coaches and players do not have experience in indoor practices. So they do not have any expectations or they don't think indoor practice is possible or even worthwhile because of their limited experience. But trust me, I LOVE running indoor practices due to the above reasons. In fact, all of the practice resources I created can be done both indoors as well as outdoors.
