About this Richard Schenck
Richard Schenck, known as "Teacherman," is a self-taught swing instructor who transformed his passion for hitting mechanics into a career working with some of baseball's biggest names — all without ever playing beyond Division Two baseball. Starting in 2004, Schenck spent years in his basement meticulously studying and comparing his swing to Barry Bonds, developing what would become his signature High-Level Pattern hitting system. His methods first gained traction when his own sons began hitting with noticeably more power and consistency.
His big break came through agent David Matranga, who connected Schenck with a young Aaron Judge. Judge, who struggled with strikeouts early in his career, credited Schenck's teachings with helping him clean up his swing heading into his breakout 2017 rookie season. Since then, Schenck's reputation has only grown, attracting players like Manny Ramirez and earning him a respected place among the game's top hitting minds — proving that deep knowledge and relentless curiosity can matter more than a traditional playing pedigree.
